Background: A mastery of life-threatening trauma procedures is important for medical students aiming to become proficient physicians. Thus, this study compares the effectiveness of deliberate practice with that of conventional lecture methods in teaching such students these essential skills.
Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 48 first- to third-year medical students at the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital at Navamindradhiraj University (Thailand).

Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is widely used in health programs and has been applied in medical education to enhance clinical knowledge and help build clinical competence and confidence. It is carried out in different clinical stations that simulate real clinical situations and scenarios and helps prepare students for clinical training and practical applications. The purpose of this study was to investigate the change in professional identity and self-efficacy of occupational therapy students after applying OSCE utilizing simulated learning.

Background: Objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs) are used globally to assess health professional learners' clinical skills and applied knowledge. Despite innovations with simulated participants, manikin technology and real patient involvement, there remains a gap between 'real-life' practice and 'OSCE experience'. For example, although mobile phone use is increasingly common in clinical practice; however, it would represent a significant disruption to established assessment practices in OSCEs.
