Background: Recurrent tonsillitis is a common indication for tonsillectomy in children and has phenotypic overlap with periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and cervical adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome. We sought to characterize symptoms associated with PFAPA among children undergoing tonsillectomy.
Methods: Parents/guardians of children undergoing tonsillectomy at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital over a six-week period were queried regarding symptoms of recurrent fever.

Review Methods: Databases were queried for medical subject heading terms and keywords related to perioperative systemic corticosteroids use for comprehensive otolaryngology and subspecialty procedures including otologic, sinonasal, sleep, laryngeal, head and neck, facial plastics, and pediatric surgery.

Tonsillectomy is a commonly performed procedure in pediatric ENT departments worldwide. To comprehensively evaluate the morbidity associated with tonsillectomy techniques and potential factors that impact outcomes The present study examined the entirety of pediatric patients who underwent tonsillectomy or adenotonsillectomy at CUCH during the years 2021 and 2022. Comprehensive scrutiny was conducted on admissions and readmission data, which encompassed hospital episode statistics, operative notes, patient questionnaires, and electronic records.

Introduction Tonsillectomy is the most common surgery in otorhinolaryngology worldwide, with many indications in adults and children. Traditionally, all tonsillectomy specimens are routinely submitted for histopathological examination, even in the absence of clinical suspicion of malignancy. This practice has been debated due to its resource implications and the low yield of malignancy in routine cases.
