Background: Hyperkalaemia is a life-threatening electrolyte disturbance and also a potential cause of cardiac arrest. The objective was to assess the effects of acute pharmacological interventions for the treatment of hyperkalaemia in patients with and without cardiac arrest.
Methods: The review was reported according to PRISMA guidelines and registered on PROSPERO (CRD42023440553).

Objective: The aim of the stud is to determine whether intravenous magnesium sulfate (IVMg) is associated with hospitalization and time to albuterol every 4 hours in a cohort of children who received intensive asthma therapy (IAT) in the emergency department (ED).
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included children 2-18 years who received IAT, defined as 3 bronchodilators and corticosteroids within 60 minutes of ED triage, with or without IVMg in the ED between 2019 and 2021. Primary outcome was hospitalization and among hospitalized children, secondary outcome was time to albuterol every 4 hours.

Background: The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) has suggested the need for more studies on inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)-formoterol in the Emergency Department (ED).
Objectives: We aimed to compare the outcomes of budesonide/formoterol (160/4.5 mcg/inhalation) turbuhaler versus pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) salbutamol (100 mcg/puff) in acute asthma in the outpatient ED.

Department of Emergency Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.
Background: Hypoglycemia is a serious, often overlooked complication of treating hyperkalemia with insulin and dextrose. If not recognized and managed, it can increase morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to estimate the incidence of hypoglycemia in hyperkalemic patients treated with 10 units of intravenous insulin, 50 ml of 50% dextrose, 10 ml of 10% calcium gluconate, and salbutamol nebulization.

Salbutamol is a short-acting and selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist. Inhaled (IH) administration of salbutamol is widely used to control lower respiratory tract disease in horses. Here, we estimated the pharmacokinetic parameters of salbutamol after a single intravenous (IV) or IH administration in six horses, and we statistically analysed the detection times with various dosing regimens.
