Purpose: To describe a rare complication of scleritis in a patient with positive serum antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA).
Methods: We present a case report of a patient who developed bilateral retinal and choroidal detachment associated with ANCA-positive scleritis.
Results: Oral steroids alone were insufficient to maintain sustained remission of ocular inflammation. Clinical relapse of the scleritis was associated with ANCA titres becoming positive again. A combination of cyclophosphamide and steroids was successful in achieving control of the intraocular inflammation over a follow-up period of 18 months.
Conclusion: Bilateral combined retinal and choroidal detachment is a potentially blinding complication of ANCA-positive scleritis. Monitoring of ANCA titres is useful in the management of the disease.

Purposes: To investigate the 12-month effectiveness of Diverse Segmented Defocus Optics (DSDO) and Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments (DIMS) spectacle lenses in a real-world clinical population in myopic and pre-myopic Chinese children.
Methods: About 364 subjects prescribed DSDO or DIMS were enrolled. Axial length (AL) and cycloplegic spherical equivalent refraction (SER) changes over 12 months were measured.

Objective: Imaging techniques have demonstrated changes in the choroid and retina in acute central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), but the effects on the optic nerve head (ONH) remain unclear. This study investigates ONH structural changes in acute CSCR using enhanced deep imaging optic coherence tomography (EDI-OCT).
Methods: A prospective cohort study included 51 acute CSCR patients and 51 healthy controls aged 18-65 years.

: Inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) are a genetically complex group of disorders, usually resulting in progressive vision loss due to retinal degeneration. Traditional imaging methods help in structural assessments, but limitations exist in early functional cellular-level detection that are crucial for guiding new therapies. : This review includes a systematic search of PubMed and Google Scholar for studies on advanced imaging techniques for IRDs.

Purpose: Alteration of visual acuity in wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is mostly driven by vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A)-induced edema from leaky newly forming blood vessels below the retina layers. To date, all therapies aimed at alleviation of this process have relied on inhibition of VEGF-A activity. Although effective in preventing vascular leak and edema, this approach also leads to the loss of normal vasculature and multiple related side effects.

Retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells undergoing epithelial‑mesenchymal transition (EMT) are a key factor in promoting the progression of subretinal fibrosis. The klotho protein and gene exert anti‑fibrotic effects in multiple fibrotic diseases. However, the mechanisms involved in the role of klotho are unclear in subretinal fibrosis.
