Equipping the standard plastic cup trap, also known as the CC trap, with lime-green light-emitting diodes (LED-plastic cup trap) increased its efficacy for catching Bemisia tabaci by 100%. Few Eretmocerus eremicus Rose and Zolnerowich and Encarsia formosa Gahan were caught in LED-plastic cup traps. The LED-plastic cup traps are less expensive than yellow sticky card traps for monitoring adult whiteflies in greenhouse crop production systems and are more compatible with whitefly parasitoids releases for Bemisia nymph control.

The central nervous system (CNS) involves a complex interplay of communications between the neurons and various glial cells, which is crucial for brain functions. The major interactomes are exosomes that transmit sundry molecules (DNA, miRNAs, and proteins) between the cells and thus alter cell physiology. Exosomes can act as neuroprotective or neurodegenerative agents depending on the microenvironment of cells secreting them.

Several methods of mosquito collection are used for the surveillance of the primary La Crosse virus (LACV) vectors, Aedes triseriatus (Say, 1823), Ae. albopictus (Skuse, 1895), and Ae. japonicus (Theobald, 1901).

Premise: Volatile emissions from flowers and fruits play a key role in signalling to animals responsible for pollination and seed dispersal. Here, we investigated the pollination biology and chemical ecology of reproduction in Apodolirion buchananii, an African amaryllid that flowers in a leafless state soon after grassland vegetation is burnt in the dry late-winter season.
Methods: Pollinators were identified through field collection and pollen loads were quantified.

Due to the multiple influences of unique physicochemical properties of helium, petrographic characteristics and temperature and pressure conditions, little is known about the helium adsorption behaviors in minerals and rocks at geological conditions. Based on the grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations, this study revealed the adsorption characteristics of pure helium and the competitive adsorption of binary mixtures with different proportions of methane and helium under geological temperature and pressure conditions in quartz slit model. Molecular simulation of pure helium shows that physical adsorption of helium exists in mineral surfaces, which indicates a preservation mechanism of helium in helium source rocks.

The efficient and complete extraction of uranium from aqueous solutions is crucial for safeguarding human health from potential radiotoxicity and chemotoxicity. Herein, an ultrathin 2D metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheet with cavity structures was elaborately constructed, based on a calix[4]arene ligand. The large molecular skeleton and cup-shaped feature of the calix[4]arene enabled the as-prepared MOFs with large layer separations, which can be readily delaminated into ultrathin single-layer (∼1.
