Objective: The objective of the study was to estimate the pleiotropic effect of teneligliptin on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels and some cardiorenal parameters in comparison to glimepiride, both as add-on therapy to metformin.

Methodology: This 12-week open-label, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial was conducted among Indian people with type 2 diabetes mellitus and on metformin monotherapy with poor glycemic control (glycated hemoglobin >7% or 53 mmol/mol). The endpoints were mean change in hs-CRP levels, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), serum creatinine, blood urea, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and change in cardiovascular (CV) risk categories from baseline to end of 12 weeks.

Purpose: To develop an algorithm using routine clinical laboratory measurements to identify people at risk for systematic underestimation of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) due to p.Val68Met glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.

Methods: We analyzed 122,307 participants of self-identified Black race across four large cohorts with blood glucose, HbA1c, and red cell distribution width measurements from a single blood draw.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the metabolic risk factors for microcirculation disorders in patients with unstable angina (UA) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), evaluating their predictive value for developing microcirculation disorders.

Methods: A single-center retrospective study design was used, which included 553 patients with UA who underwent PCI. The angiographic microcirculatory resistance (AMR) index was calculated based on coronary angiography data.
