The authors examined the similarities and differences between 3 dimensions that represent people's focus on self vs. other: individualistic vs. collectivistic nations, independent vs. interdependent self-concepts, and intrinsic vs. extrinsic aspirations. In samples of South Korean and U.S. college students, the authors found that each of these dimensions was interrelated in expected ways and that each also was independently associated with different aspects of participants' self-report of their own well-being (i.e., self-actualization, vitality, happiness, anxiety, and physical manifestations). The authors concluded that environmental circumstances and personality characteristics that focus on personal needs are more likely to provide experiences supportive of psychological well-being.

Background: As artificial intelligence (AI) transforms nursing education, AI literacy is becoming a critical necessity for increasing the career potential and talent of nursing students. Additionally, fostering an innovation mindset promotes adaptability, creativity and openness to new approaches, further boosting students' confidence in their careers. However, few studies have examined the impact of these competencies on nursing students' career and talent self-efficacy, underscoring the need for further investigation.

Objective: The use of three-dimensional (3D) laparoscopy in surgical practice and training has been an area of research and discussion. Studies have suggested that 3D vision can improve speed and precision compared to traditional two-dimensional (2D) displays, while other authors found no benefits on the learning curves of laparoscopic novices. Modern two-dimensional laparoscopy with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels (2D-4 K) seems to improve laparoscopic view and helps learners orient without stereopsis.

Background: Given that students from socio-economically disadvantaged family backgrounds are more likely to suffer from low academic performance, there is an interest in identifying features of academic resilience, which may mitigate the relationship between disadvantaged socio-economic status and academic performance.
Aims: This study sought to combine machine learning and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) technique to identify key features of academic resilience in mathematics learning during COVID-19.
Materials And Methods: Based on PISA 2022 data in 79 countries/economies, the random forest model coupled with Shapley additive explanations (SHAP) value technique not only uncovered the key features of academic resilience but also examined the contributions of each key feature.
