With the increasing speed of genomic, transcriptomic, and metagenomic data generation driven by the advancement and widespread adoption of next-generation sequencing technologies, the management and analysis of large-scale, diverse data in the fields of life science and biotechnology have become critical challenges. In this paper, we thoroughly discuss the use of cloud data warehouses to address these challenges. Specifically, we propose a data management and analysis framework using Snowflake, a SaaS-based data platform.

Background: Three dimensional (3D) cell cultures can be effectively used for drug discovery and development but there are still challenges in their general application to high-throughput screening. In this study, we developed a novel high-throughput chemotherapeutic 3D drug screening system for gastric cancer, named 'Cure-GA', to discover clinically applicable anticancer drugs and predict therapeutic responses.
Methods: Primary cancer cells were isolated from 143 fresh surgical specimens by enzymatic treatment.

Liver Enriched Antimicrobial Peptide 2 (LEAP2) is a fascinating peptide that has gained significant attention since its discovery in 2003. Initially identified as an antimicrobial peptide, LEAP2 has more recently been found to play a key role in the regulation of energy metabolism. One of the most notable functions of LEAP2 is its interaction with the ghrelin hormone, which is known for stimulating hunger.

Design: A 39-member interprofessional and international expert working group of clinicians (physicians, nurses, and pharmacists) and nonclinicians (biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and trial methodologists) was convened. Four expert panels were assembled to explore key subtopics (pharmacological/nonpharmacologic treatment, methodological challenges, and novel research designs).

The discovery of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) has provided a new perspective on the centrality of RNA in gene regulation and genome organization. Here, we screened for lncRNAs with putative functions in the host response to single-stranded RNA respiratory viruses. We identify as a conserved cis-acting lncRNA up-regulated in three respiratory diseases to control the expression of its antisense gene , a key transcriptional regulator of the antiviral response.
