Oxidative stress plays a major role in the secondary injury of the spinal cord tissue due to the high lipid content of nervous tissue. In the present study, coaxial nanofibers were loaded with the natural antioxidant pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) and used as an implantable drug-delivery system and a scaffold post-SCI. The obtained data show that the concentration of NO and the activity of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) were significantly ( < 0.

The process of regenerating bone injuries in diabetic presents significant challenges because lysine oxidase (LOX), a key catalytic enzyme for collagen cross-linking, is inhibited in hyperglycemia. The supplementation of LOX is constrained by inadequate sources and diminished enzymatic activity, necessitating the development of effective alternatives for enhancing bone regeneration in diabetes. Herein, we reported a lysyl oxidase nanozyme (LON), derived from the catalytic domain of LOX.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) or eczema is an important inflammatory chronic skin disease that brings many complications in its management and treatment. Although several chemical agents are used for treatment, the search for better anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents of plant origin has been ongoing, since natural compounds, it is commonly believed, are less dangerous than synthetic ones. Therefore, the present study explored a medicinal plant- (L.

Iron-based constructed wetlands (ICWs) displayed great potential in deep nitrogen elimination for low-polluted wastewater. However, the unsatisfactory denitrification performance caused by the limited solubility and sluggish activity of iron substrates needs to be improved in an eco-effective manner. To fill this gap, the bioavailability of iron substrates (iron scraps) affected by wetland biomass-derived carbon materials with potential conductivity were explored.
