The metabolic changes in a patient with succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency were investigated following valproate administration using urease pretreatment and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. A stable isotope dilution technique was used for quantification of urinary 4-hydroxybutyrate. Urinary levels of 4-hydroxybutyrate were 4-fold higher after 1-month valproate therapy. 4,5-Dihydrohexanoate, 2-deoxytetronate and 3-deoxytetronate were also 1.7-2.7-fold higher. The urinary excretions of 4-hydroxybutyrate in valproate non-medicated controls were age dependence and decreased with age. Relationships between 4-hydroxybutyrate excretion and 4-hydroxyvalproate or 5-hydroxyvalproate excretion were observed in valproate medicated controls. It seems that 4-hydroxyvalproate and 5-hydroxyvalproate as well as valproate are involved with increased excretion of 4-hydroxybutyrate following valproate administrations.

Chronic cerebral ischemia (CCI) is one of the most common forms of cerebrovascular disease, which affects a significant number of patients, often leading to disability, cognitive impairment and dementia. The analysis of modern data on the pathogenesis and risk factors for the development of CCI, as well as on the mechanisms of action of Mexidol on various links in the pathogenesis of CCI. A systematic search was conducted in the PubMed, MEDLINE and Google Scholar databases, on Russian and English-language sites with open access publications on the problem of CCI and on the drug Mexidol in the period from 2014 to 2024.

Objective: Analysis of the effectiveness of the use of the drug Cytoflavin and the organization of the activities of nursing staff, within the framework of nursing care, in the complex therapy of patients with spinal cord injury (PSMT).
Material And Methods: Material and methods. 40 patients with PSMT due to a gunshot wound were examined, who were divided into two equal groups depending on the type of therapy performed: group 1 patients received the full volume of stage I medical rehabilitation (with additional use of neurodevelopmental techniques under the supervision of a Bobata department nurse) and standard drug therapy, including a course of intravenous Cytoflavin infusions followed by tablet form; group 2 patients received the full volume of stage I medical rehabilitation and standard drug therapy, but did not receive Cytoflavin.

We present a case of hyperkaliaemic cardiac arrest in a patient with Angelman's syndrome after administration of suxamethonium in rapid sequence intubation. The patient was admitted to the critical care unit in with aspiration pneumonia and intestinal obstruction. They had a cardiac arrest after suxamethonium administration.

Successful immunotherapy relies on both intratumoral and systemic immunity, which is yet to be achieved for most patients with cancer. Here, we identify P4HA1, encoding prolyl 4-hydroxylase 1, as a crucial regulator of CD8 T cell differentiation strongly upregulated in tumor-draining lymph nodes (TDLNs) and hypoxic tumor microenvironment. P4HA1 accumulates in mitochondria, disrupting the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle through aberrant α-ketoglutarate and succinate metabolism, promoting mitochondria unfitness and exhaustion while suppressing progenitor expansion.
