In this communication, we demonstrate the feasibility of 1H detection in MAS solid-state NMR for a microcrystalline, uniformly 2H,15N-labeled sample of a SH3 domain of chicken alpha-spectrin, using pulsed field gradients for suppression of water magnetization. Today, B0 gradients are employed routinely in solution-state NMR for coherence order selection and solvent suppression. We suggest to use gradients to purge water magnetization which cannot be suppressed using conventional water suppression schemes. The achievable gain in sensitivity for 1H detection is in the order of 5 compared to the 15N detected version of the experiment (at a MAS rotation frequency of 13.5 kHz). We expect that this labeling concept which achieves high sensitivity due to 1H detection, in combination with the possibility to measure long range 1H-1H distances as we have shown previously, to be a useful tool for the determination of protein structures in the solid state.

Background: Fruit quality traits, including taste, flavor, texture, and shelf-life, have emerged as important breeding priorities in blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum). Organic acids and sugars play crucial roles in the perception of blueberry taste/flavor, where low and high consumer liking are correlated with high organic acids and high sugars, respectively. Blueberry texture and appearance are also critical for shelf-life quality and consumers' willingness-to-pay.

Purpose: This study aims to develop a deep-learning-based software capable of detecting and differentiating microaneurysms (MAs) as hyporeflective or hyperreflective on structural optical coherence tomography (OCT) images in patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR).
Methods: A retrospective cohort of 249 patients (498 eyes) diagnosed with NPDR was analysed. Structural OCT scans were obtained using the Heidelberg Spectralis HRA + OCT device.
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease worldwide and the leading cause of dementia in the elderly. New approaches to study AD are still needed to identify and validate blood-based diagnostic biomarkers that could be useful for its early diagnosis. Circulating autoantibodies (AAbs) and their target proteins (autoantigens) are promising candidate biomarkers to aid in AD early diagnosis.

The contribution of protons in or near biradical polarizing agents in Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) has recently been under scrutiny. Results from selective deuteration and simulations have previously suggested that the role of protons in the biradical molecule depends on the strength of the electron-electron coupling. Here we use the cross effect DNP mechanism to identify and acquire H solid-state NMR spectra of the protons that contribute to propagation of the hyperpolarization, via an experimental approach dubbed Nuclear-Nuclear Double Resonance (NUDOR).

Cu-modified zeolites provide methane conversion to methanol with high selectivity under mild conditions. The activity of different possible Cu-sites for methane transformation is still under discussion. Herein, ZSM-5 zeolite has been loaded with Cu2+ cations (1.
