As novel promising anticancer candidates, the piano-stool type complexes of ruthenium, [RuCl(η-p-cymene)(N,S-L)]PF, K-, were synthesized from the reaction of the substituted benzo[b]thiophene based thiosemicarbazone ligands (L) with [{RuCl(η-p-cymene)}(μ-Cl)]. All complexes were fully characterized using elemental analysis, and spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR and H NMR. The molecular masses of the complexes were proved by MALDI-TOF analysis.

Ru single atoms and nanoparticles immobilized on hierarchically porous carbon for robust dual-pH hydrogen evolution.

J Colloid Interface Sci

December 2024

School of Mechanical Engineering, Qinghai University, Xining 810016, PR China. Electronic address:

Ensuring Ruthenium-based (Ru) catalysts with high metal utilization is a potential and challenging strategy for designing and constructing high catalytic activity electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, Ruthenium single atoms (SA) and Ruthenium nanoparticles (NPs) are simultaneously anchored on hierarchically porous carbon via the self-templates method for the first time. Benefiting from the synergetic effect of hierarchically porous carbon and the coexistence of Ru SA and Ru NPs, the Ru/C-800 shows attractive HER catalytic activity in acidic and alkaline solutions, with low overpotentials to drive the current density of 10 mA cm and the smallest Tafel slope.

Switchable Acidic Oxygen Evolution Mechanisms on Atomic Skin of Ruthenium Metallene Oxides.

J Am Chem Soc

RuO has been considered as a promising, low-cost, and highly efficient catalyst in the acidic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, it suffers from poor stability due to the inevitable involvement of the lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM). Here, we construct a unique metallene-based core-skin structure and unveil that the OER pathway of atomic RuO skin can be regulated from the LOM to an adsorbate evolution mechanism by altering the core species from metallene oxides to metallenes.

A novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor was developed for the ultrasensitive detection of miRNA-155, based on the synergistic combination of multifunctional nanomaterials. The biosensor employed a conductive metal-organic framework (MOF), Ni(HAB) (HAB = hexaaminobenzene), as the substrate material. The unique π-electron conjugated structure of Ni(HAB) endowed the biosensor with excellent electron transport properties, significantly enhancing its sensitivity.
