Since its introduction into dentistry in 1989, nightguard vital bleaching has been proven to be a simple and safe procedure to lighten discolored teeth. Efficacy of the technique is 98% for nontetracycline-stained teeth, and with extended treatment time, tetracycline-stained teeth can be expected to lighten in at least 86% of cases. Satisfactory retention of the shade change without re-treatment can be expected in at least 43% at 10 years posttreatment. Side effects are usually mild and transient, disappearing within days of treatment completion with no long-term sequelae. Participants report that they are glad they went through the procedure, and wild recommend the procedure to a friend.

Objectives: To test the influence of a bleaching procedure using 16% carbamide peroxide (CP) on the colour of composite materials and their consecutive subjection to discolouration in beverages.
Materials And Methods: Nanocomposite Z550 (3M ESPE) and the microhybrid Z250 (3M ESPE) composite materials were selected for the research. 16% CP was applied to composite plates (15 samples each material) for seven hours a day for 14 days simulating at-home nightguard vital bleaching.

Objective: To compare at-home systems with reduced daily time of use (10% hydrogen peroxide [HP] gel with prefilled (PT) or customized trays (CT), and 10% carbamide peroxide [CP] gel), with the conventional nightguard vital bleaching (10% CP). Bleaching efficacy, adverse effects, and patient's satisfaction were evaluated.
Methods: Sixty participants were randomly divided into treatments (14 days): Opalescence GO (OGO)-10%HP PT-30 min, White Class-10%HP CT-30 min, Opalescence PF-10%CP CT-2 h, and Opalescence PF-10%CP CT-8 h.

Purpose: To assess the hypothesis that there was no difference in effect of 10% and 15% tooth bleaching agents on color stability of materials used for provisional fixed dental prosthesis.
Methodology: Fifteen samples from two materials used for provisional fixed dental prosthesis: methacrylate-based and composite-based materials and 15 preformed polycarbonate crowns soaked in bleaching gel or distilled water. Spectrophotometer recorded color of specimens at baseline, after 3, 7, and 14 days.
