Background: The early and accurate diagnosis of obstructive uropathy in the newborn, prevents secondary complications and kidney damage.

Aim: To study the usefulness of Tc99M MAG3 diuretic renogram in newborns with hydronephrosis.

Material And Methods: Forty newborns, aged 1 to 30 days, with hydronephrosis, were studied. A Tc99M MAG3 diuretic renogram (DR) was done and its results were compared with clinical features and other imaging studies. Each kidney and its ureter, were considered a renal unit.

Results: Seventy six renal units were evaluated. Twenty six were normal on prenatal ultrasound examination and DR. In 11 of the 50 renal units with hydronephrosis, renal function was impaired. Thus, it was impossible to obtain an excretory curve. In 17 of the 39 remaining renal units, the absence of obstructive uropathy was demonstrated clinically. In 16 of these, the DR showed absence of obstruction. In 20 of 21 renal units with confirmed obstructive uropathy, DR showed an obstructive pattern.

Conclusions: In newborns, there is an adequate Tc99M MAG3 uptake and diuretic response. Thus, DR becomes a good functional assessment method in newborns with hydronephrosis.

: The objective of the current research is to assess the benefits that come with antegrade ureteral stenting coupled with imaging techniques in children and also provide a new classification based on the ureter's morphological elements. : Between 2011 and 2024, 107 antegrade stent placement procedures performed in 71 pediatric patients aged 0-12 years who could not undergo retrograde double-J stent placement were retrospectively analyzed. According to the morphologic structure of the ureter, four categories were classified as normal, straight/slightly angled, S-shaped, and spiral-shaped.

Background Ureteropelvic junction stenosis (UPJS) is the most common cause of clinically significant antenatal hydronephrosis. We compared separate renal function results obtained using technetium-99m-mercaptoacetyltriglycine (Tc-99m MAG-3) and technetium-99m-dimercaptosuccinic acid (Tc-99m DMSA) in pediatric patients with UPJS to evaluate the adequacy of Tc-99m MAG-3 scintigraphy and the necessity of additional Tc-99m DMSA scintigraphy during follow-up. Methodology Patients diagnosed with hydronephrosis in the Pediatric Nephrology Department of Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine over a period of 10 years (2012-2022) were evaluated retrospectively.

Objective: To explore the usefulness of the 'differential renal length index' (iDRL) before and after pyeloplasty, as the anteroposterior diameter is commonly used to quantify hydronephrosis but inaccuracies arise due to interobserver variability, hydration status and pure intra-renal dilatation.

Patients And Methods: Prospectively collected data, from two centres, of all children undergoing pyeloplasty for isolated unilateral pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) (2015-2021) were analysed. Subgroup analysis was undertaken: Group A - differential renal function (DRF) ≥40%, Group B - subnormal DRF (20-39%), and Group C - symptomatic.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the value of absolute renal uptake (ARU %) in patients by using Tc-99m MAG-3 and Tc-99m DMSA scan.

Material And Methods: Absolute renal uptake is calculated using Tc-99m MAG-3 and Tc-99m DMSA in renal scintigraphy, Itoh and Tauex kidney depth methods used, respectively. n = 40 adult patients of both genders were included.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to examine the follow-up and treatment results of late renal functions in children with high-grade (Grades 4, 5) renal trauma resulting from blunt abdominal injury.

Methods: The follow-up and treatment reports of 41 patients with renal trauma admitted to our clinic between the years 2005 and 2015 were reviewed retrospectively.

Results: Eight of the 41 cases had Grade 1, five had Grade 2, and 12 had Grade 3 renal trauma.
