Gastric cancer remains a significant global health challenge, causing a substantial number of cancer-related deaths, particularly in China. While the exact causes of gastric cancer are still being investigated, () infection has been identified as the primary risk factor, which triggers chronic inflammation and a multistage progression of gastric lesions that may lead to carcinogenesis over a long latency time. Since the 1990s, numerous efforts have focused on assessing the effectiveness of eradication in preventing new cases of gastric cancer among both the general population and patients who have undergone early-stage cancer treatment.

Introduction: Resection of primary tumor and liver metastases is the gold standard for colorectal cancer with liver-only metastases (CRLM). Although treatment options have expanded to enable conversion of unresectable to resectable CRLM, about 40% of patients will have definitively unresectable disease. Major advances in surgical techniques, immunosuppressive protocols and patient selection criteria for liver transplantation have resulted in improved outcomes.

Introduction: Chile has achieved developed nation status and boasts a life expectancy of 81 + years; however, the healthcare and research systems are unprepared for the social and economic burden of cancer. One decade ago, the authors put forward a comprehensive analysis of cancer infrastructure, together with a series of suggestions on research orientated political policy.
Objectives: Provide an update and comment on policy, infrastructure, gender equality, stakeholder participation and new challenges in national oncology.
