Objective: To analyse the 1H-NMR finger-print of the stem of Dendrobium loddigesii.

Method: Silica gel column chromatography was used to separate the chemical constituents of SCE A of the stem of D. loddigesii. The characteristic signals of the H-NMR finger-print were analysed after determining the structures of the compounds isolated from SCE A.

Result: 1H-NMR finger-prints of the samples of D. loddigesii collected from different regions showed highly characteristic features and reproducibility. Four compounds predominant in SCE A were isolated and their structures were determined by spectral analysis as 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively.

Conclusion: Compound 3 and 4 were isolated from D. loddigesii for the first time. The 1H-NMR finger-print of CGE A of the stem of D. loddigesii showed mainly the characteristic signals of the above four compounds and might be utilized for the original authentication of this plant.

is an important medicinal plant, rich in flavonoid, with various pharmacological activities such as stomachic and antioxidant properties. In this study, we integrated metabolome and transcriptome analyses to reveal metabolite and gene expression profiles of both green (GDd) and purple-red (RDd) of semi-annual and annual stems. A total of 244 flavonoid metabolites, mainly flavones and flavonols, were identified and annotated.

We isolated endophytic strains from the healthy roots, stems, and leaves of to investigate their plant growth-promoting activities in vitro. Subsequently, Indole acetic acid (IAA) was quantified and the gene (responsible for IAA synthesis in fungi) was amplified and sequenced. Finally, a germination assay was performed with seeds of and a plant growth assay with protocorms of to test their plant growth-promoting activities.

UDP-rhamnose, which is synthesized under the catalysis by the rhamnose synthase(RHM), is an essential sugar donor for the synthesis of rhamnoside in plants. Based on the reported rhamnose synthase, this study screened one RHM gene(DhuRHM) from the localized gene database of Dendrobium huoshanense by sequence alignment. This gene was cloned, and then bioinformatics analysis and in vitro functional verification were carried out.

To ensure the aroma and flavour quality of dried herbs, it is essential to understand flavour reactions that occur during complex drying mechanisms. This study investigated aroma formation in dried Dendrobium nobile stems (Shihu), valued in Chinese cuisine and traditional medicine. Stems were dried in a convection oven over 48 h (70 °C).

Two unusual isosativene sesquiterpene derivatives, named dendronobilol A (1) and dendronobilside A (2), and two unusual sativene sesquiterpene derivatives, named dendronobilsides B (3) and C (4), had been isolated from the stems of Dendrobium nobile. The structures of all the compounds were established using spectroscopic methods and by comparison with literature data, and their absolute configurations were confirmed via single-crystal X-ray diffraction data and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. Dendronobilol A (1) and dendronobilside A (2) possessed a unique tricyclo[4.
