To assess the role of interleukin-6 (IL-6) in migraine, we analyzed the -174 G/C IL-6 gene polymorphism in 268 patients with migraine and 305 controls. No significant difference in the distribution of IL-6 genotypes (chi(2)=0.601, P=0.74) and allelic frequencies (chi(2)=0.024, P=0.876) was found. When patients were subdivided into subgroups (migraine with aura, migraine without aura and mixed headaches), IL-6 alleles were similarly distributed. Comparison of the clinical features of the disease with the -174 G/C IL-6 genotypes showed no significant difference. In conclusion, we found no significant association between the -174 G/C IL-6 polymorphism and the occurrence or the clinical features of migraine.

In this study, we have proposed an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) signal amplification system which is based on two-dimensional (2D) flower-like CdS@Co/Mo-MOF composites as a co-reaction accelerator of the g-CN/SO system for ultrasensitive detection of chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPH). Specifically, the 2D flower-like Co/Mo-MOF with mesoporous alleviated the aggregation of CdS NPs while simultaneously fostering reactant-active site contact and improving the reactant-product transport rate. This allowed the material to act as a novel co-reaction accelerator, speeding up the transformation of the SO into SO and enhancing the cathodic ECL emission of g-CN.

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is produced and secreted by skeletal muscle cells during exercise and plays an important role in mediating metabolic responses to exercise. The promoter region of the IL-6 gene contains a common genetic variant (-174 G/C, rs1800795) which may alter responses to exercise training. To isolate the impact of this gene variant on exercise-induced IL-6 expression and skeletal muscle transcription responses following exercise we generated knock-in mice with a GG or variant CC genotype for the murine homolog of rs1800795.

Electroactive bacteria (EAB) in sediment commonly establish long-distance electron transfer (LDET) to access O, facilitating the degradation of organic contaminants, which we hypothesize is mediated by the bio-transformation of dissolved organic matter (DOM).
