At photoperiods longer than 8h per 24h, adults of the day-active onion fly Delia antiqua showed a major peak of locomotor activity in the late photophase and also bursts of activity induced by lights-on or lights-off. At shorter photoperiods the activity peaks fused. After transfer from long photoperiods to constant darkness (DD), the rhythm free-ran, but only the major peak persisted. This suggests that only the major peak is controlled by the circadian pacemaker. At long photoperiods, the daily phase of the major peak occurred progressively later with age. As a result, the activity at short photoperiods often shifted from photophase to scotophase in old flies. The free-running period (tau) also changed with age; tau was shorter than 24h until 14-20 days after eclosion and thereafter became longer, but a few individuals repeated changes in tau. The phase delay of locomotor activity with age in D. antiqua would be attributable to the increase in tau.

: Cangrelor provides rapid platelet inhibition, making it a potential option for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) survivors undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, clinical data on its use after OHCA are limited. This study investigates in-hospital outcomes of cangrelor use in this population.

A bolt loosening detection method based on the summation coefficient of the absolute spectrum ratio technique is proposed to address the prevalent issue of bolt loosening in mechanical connections. This proposed method involves initially collecting vibration and rotation speed signals of the motor bolt connection structure, acquiring the baseline spectrum curve of a healthy structure and the spectrum curves of non-healthy structures under different degrees of bolt looseness through chirp Fourier transform (CFT). Subsequently, the spectrum ratio curves between healthy and non-healthy structures are calculated for different degrees of bolt loosening, and then the Summation Coefficient of Absolute Spectrum Ratio (SCASR) is defined to indicate the looseness.

Radiation has been used to treat meningiomas since the mid-1970s. Traditionally, radiation was reserved for patients unfit for major surgery or those with surgically inaccessible tumors. With an increased quantity and quality of imaging, and an aging population, there has been a rise in incidentally diagnosed meningiomas with smaller tumors at diagnosis time.

The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of polymeric cell structures for the production of energy absorbers and to focus on the geometric optimization of polymeric cell structures producible by additive technologies to achieve the required deformation characteristics, high material efficiency and the low weight of the resulting absorber. A detailed analysis of different types of cell structures (different lattice structures and honeycombs) and their properties was performed. Honeycombs, which have been further examined in more detail, are best suited for absorbing large amounts of energy and high levels of material efficiency at known load directions.

Purpose: Magnetization prepared rapid gradient echo (MPRAGE) is a useful three-dimensional (3D) T1-weighted sequence, but is not a priority in routine brain examinations. We hypothesized that converting 3D MRI localizer (AutoAlign Head) images to MPRAGE-like images with deep learning (DL) would be beneficial for diagnosing and researching dementia and neurodegenerative diseases. We aimed to establish and evaluate a DL-based model for generating MPRAGE-like images from MRI localizers.
