Objectives: Window entrapment in cats can lead to reduced blood flow to the spinal cord, muscles and nerves, resulting in ischaemic neuromyelomyopathy. The severity and duration of entrapment greatly influence clinical and neurological outcomes, as well as prognosis. The aim of the present retrospective multicentric study (2005-2022) was to describe clinical, neurological and selected clinicopathological findings, as well as the outcome of cats trapped in bottom-hung windows, presented to both first-opinion and referral-only clinics.

Incorporating CO-philic functionalities into surfactant structure is proposed to address the drawbacks of conventional foaming agents such as premature rupture of lamellae in contact with oil, surfactant loss due to adsorption on rock or partitioning between oil and water, and salinity and temperature tolerance issues. Increased activity at the gas/water interface and less surfactant adsorption to the rock due to the presence of CO-philic chains results in higher foam durability in the presence of oil. In the present paper, a comprehensive study on the adsorption of anionic CO-philic surfactants onto sandstone rock surface is performed to understand adsorption mechanisms through the addition of CO-philic tail groups in surfactant structure by observing the changes in concentration, static adsorption, and point of zero charge measurements.

Objective: As a traditional Chinese medicine, leech has obvious pharmacological activities in anticoagulantion and antithrombosis. Whitman (WP) is the most commonly used leech in the Chinese market. It is often used in clinical applications after high-temperature processing by talcum powder to remove the fishy taste and facilitate crushing.

Background: Minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy has become a widely accepted procedure for tumors located in the pancreatic body or tail. However, pancreatic transection by linear stapler is generally avoided for pancreatic body tumors located above the portal vein because the surgical margin width is narrowed after taking into account the cutting allowance for insertion of the stapling device. Herein, we report a parenchymal clamp-crushing procedure that provides a sufficient surgical margin in pancreatic transection.

Background: The polarity of nerve grafts does not interfere with axon growth. Our goal was to investigate whether axons can regenerate in a retrograde fashion within sensory pathways and then extend into motor pathways, leading to muscle reinnervation.
Methods: Fifty-four rats were randomized into four groups.
