Purpose: Parathyroid lipoadenomas are difficult to recognize preoperatively; hence, they may remain undetected. Difficulty in recognition is thought to be due to the adipocytes present in the tumor. This study aimed to clarify the impact of adipocytes as a component of parathyroid adenomas on ultrasound evaluation.

Child Population and Translational Health Research, Children's Hospital Westmead Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney, Camperdown, New South Wales, Australia.
Objectives: The burden and health impact of heat stress on child hospitalization is limited. This study aims to investigate associations between extreme heat stress exposure based on a Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI), emergency department (ED) visits, and ED visits that translate into unplanned hospital admissions.
Methods: This population-based case-crossover study included all ED visits and unplanned hospital admissions among children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years from New South Wales, Australia, from July 2001 to June 2020.

Background Aims: With novel therapies improving prognosis, the complications of multiple myeloma after multi-line treatment, particularly myelosuppression, have become a crucial determinant of long-term outcomes. Non-myeloablative allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a feasible option, but the transplant-related mortality rate remains high. Our study presents a relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patient with a 9-year disease history.

Background: Perimembranous ventricular septal defect (PMVSD) is a prevalent congenital heart disease, presenting challenges in predicting spontaneous closure, which is crucial for therapeutic decisions. Existing models mainly rely on structured echocardiographic parameters or restricted data. This study introduces an artificial intelligence (AI)-based model, which uses natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning with the aim of improving spontaneous closure predictability in PMVSD.

Vasculitic neuropathy is caused by inflammatory destruction of nerve blood vessels resulting in nerve ischemia. Nerve vasculitis can be divided into two categories based on vessel size - large arteriole vasculitis (≥75 µm) and microvasculitis (<75 µm). Herein, we characterize the clinical features of nerve large-arteriole vasculitis compared to nerve microvasculitis.
