In univariate analyses of patients with metastatic testicular germ cell tumours (TGCT), both the International Germ Cell Consensus Classification (IGCCC) and serum lactate dehydrogenase (S-LD) isoenzyme 1 catalytic concentration (S-LD-1) significantly predicted survival. In complementary analyses of 81 patients with metastatic TGCT, S-LD and S-LD-1 classified the prognosis differently for 23 patients. In multivariate Cox hazard analyses of risk factors, only IGCCC and S-LD-1 predicted the prognosis (p=0.036, and p=0.0007, respectively). A new prognostic model based on prognostic information from main histology, IGCCC, and S-LD-1 changed the prognostic prediction by IGCCC for 19 patients (24%). Judged by to the area under the curve for receiver operation characteristics curves, the new model predicted five-years survival for the patients better than IGCCC and a modified version of the third edition of the TNM classification (p=0.025, and p=0.01, respectively). However, new studies should validate the new model before it is recommended as a general classification system of patients with metastatic TGCT.

This case report describes the management of a 30-year-old male patient with a history of an advanced nonseminomatous germ cell tumor, hip fracture complicated by extensive deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and on apixaban presenting with asymptomatic intracardiac teratoma and abdominopelvic metastases. Multidisciplinary intervention, including successful surgical excision of the intracardiac mass, highlights the importance of coordinated care and vigilant follow-up in optimizing patient outcomes and preventing life-threatening complications.

Testicular tumors represent the most common solid organ malignancy in young and adult males. Sex cord-stromal tumors are the second-largest group of primary testicular cancers, after germ-cell tumors. Sertoli cell (SC) tumors of the testis are relatively rare, accounting for only a small fraction of testicular tumors.

The sacrum can harbor a diverse group of both benign and malignant tumors, including metastases. Primary tumors of the sacrum can arise from bone, cartilage, marrow, notochordal remnants, or surrounding nerves and vessels. Among a variety of primary tumors of the spine, chordoma, germ cell tumors and Ewing's sarcoma are recognized for their propensity to occur in the sacrum.

The judicious selection of ovulation inhibitors in ovarian stimulation protocols is crucial for the success of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Herein, we investigate the dose-dependent effects of chlormadinone acetate (CMA) and cetrorelix, two distinct ovulation inhibitors, on oocyte maturation in patients with normal ovarian reserve, using univariable and multivariable Poisson regression analyses. Patients undergoing progestin-primed ovarian stimulation (PPOS) with CMA (n = 299) or gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist (GnRH-ant) with cetrorelix (n = 605) during their initial in vitro fertilization cycle were enrolled at our center from March 2018 to October 2020 (N = 904).

Background: In the cryopreservation process, rooster spermatozoa are vastly sensitive to reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aimed to investigate the effects of Lake extender supplemented via Cysteamine (CYS) on the quality and fertility characteristics of rooster semen during the cryopreservation process.
Methods: Semen samples were collected from 10 proved Ross-308 roosters, diluted and cryopreserved in the Lake extender which contained 0, 1, 2, 4, and 8 mM of CYS (C-0, C-1, C-2, C-4, and C-8, respectively).
