Dentin hypersensitivity is primarily caused by the exposure of dentinal tubules due to various factors, so the key to treatment is to effectively seal these exposed tubules. However, traditional dentinal tubule sealants used in clinical practice often fail to adhere securely to the tubule surface when exposed to external stimuli, resulting in a recurrence of sensitivity. In this study, we developed a silicon micromotor that moved autonomously and loaded with silver nanoparticles and a photosensitive adhesive for dentin sensitivity therapy.

Penetrating orocutaneous or oropharyngeal fistulas (POFs), severe complications following unsuccessful oral or oropharyngeal reconstruction, remain complex clinical challenges due to lack of supportive tissue, contamination with saliva and chewed food, and dynamic oral environment. Here, we present a Janus hydrogel adhesive (JHA) with asymmetric functions on opposite sides fabricated via a facile surface enzyme-initiated polymerization (SEIP) approach, which self-entraps surface water and blood within an in-situ formed hydrogel layer (RL) to effectively bridge biological tissues with a supporting hydrogel (SL), achieving superior wet-adhesion and seamless wound plugging. The tough SL hydrogel interlocked with RL dissipates energy to withstand external mechanical stimuli from continuous oral motions like chewing and swallowing, thus reducing stress-induced damage.

Skin wound healing is often hindered by disrupted mitochondrial homeostasis and imbalanced macrophage glucose metabolism, posing a critical challenge to improve patient outcomes. Developing new wound healing dressings capable of effectively regulating macrophage immune-metabolic functions remains a pressing issue. Herein, a highly adhesive polyethylene glycol (PEG) hydrogel loaded with the Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor Filgotinib (Fil@GEL) is prepared to modulate macrophage metabolic reprogramming and restore normal mitochondrial function.

Claw characteristics of oribatid mites are strongly correlated with environmental factors and these characters remain constant throughout development when immatures and adults share the same ecology and lifestyle. In the present study, claw traits of oribatid mite species with constant ecology were compared with those of species showing a clear ecological shift between juvenile and adult stage. The arboreal Sellnickia caudata and the saxicolous Niphocepheus nivalis dwell in the same microhabitat during their life-cycle, whereas immatures of the terrestrial Carabodes areolatus and Mycobates carli, as well as of the aquatic Hydrozetes lemnae, are, in contrast to their adults, endophagous, meaning they feed and burrow within lichen and plant tissue.

Context.—: Lymph node (LN) involvement (LNI) is not infrequently observed in ovarian serous borderline tumors (SBTs) but is not considered equivalent to malignant tumor metastasis, as it reportedly does not impact recurrence or survival in patients with SBT. However, the reasons underlying the insignificant clinical impact of LNI remain unclear.
