Peripheral vascular diseases (PVDs) represent a significant burden on global human health and healthcare systems. With continued growth in obesity and diabetes, it is likely that the incidence of these conditions will increase. As many PVDs remain undiagnosed, low-cost and easy to use diagnostic methods are required.

Background: Not only hemo-dynamic (HD) factors but also hemo-metabolic (HM) risk factors reflecting multi-organ injuries are considered as important prognostic factors in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). However, studies regarding HM risk factors in STEMI patients are currently limited.
Method: Under analysis were 1,524 patients with STEMI who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention in the INTERSTELLAR registry.

Background: Various minimally invasive procedures for treating discogenic pain have been reported in recent years. A Disc-FX® system can be used to perform nucleus pulposus (NP) removal, radiofrequency ablation, and annuloplasty under the guidance of x-ray fluoroscopy. However, when a probe tip with focused heat is placed on the intradiscal/subannular area to perform nucleo-annuloplasty using radiofrequency lesioning, thermal injury to the spinal cord or spinal nerves is a concern.

The present work is focused on fabrication of novel nanofiber (NF) mat as wound-healing scaffold using blends of novel combination of leaves mucilage (HLM)-Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-Pectin, which was never reported previously. Different ratios of the polymeric blends were electrospun by setting different parameters to achieve best possible electrospun nanofiber mat which was later crosslinked by glutaraldehyde vapor. The optimized formulation of nanofiber mat was characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

The study of the fractal architecture of various organs and structures expanded the possibilities for determining the ranges of their functioning and structural arrangement, which, as a result, was reflected in the development of new approaches to diagnostics and therapeutic impacts. The architecture of the excretory duct systems, similar to the hemo- and lymph- circulatory beds and the bronchial tree, is considered fractal. At the same time, information about hitherto unknown structures of the biliary tree continues to appear in the literature.
