The efficiency of the developed scheme for a drug prophylaxis of chronic cardiac insufficiency (CCI) in patients with diabetes mellitus I (DM I) of autoimmune genesis (subtype B) was evaluated; such scheme comprised the inhibitors of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) of different chemical structures and a biological response modifier (BRM)--glutoxime, which were prescribed with regard for a changed biological rhythm of hemodynamic as well as of metabolic and immune profiles of patients. The following parameters were examined: cardiohaemodynamics, the content of cortisol, insulin, ACTH, TTH and thyroxin in blood, of transport proteins and of the concentration of IL-1 and TNF-alpha in blood. It was established that the use of ramipril and fosinopril combined with the glutoxime BRM within the scheme of drug prophylaxis of CCI concomitant with DM I was accompanied by an effective removal of desynchronosis of the immune-endocrine system in the discussed category of patients.

Purpose Of Review: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic liver disease, characterized by hepatic steatosis with at least one cardiometabolic risk factor. Patients with MASLD are at increased risk for the occurrence of cardiovascular events. Within this review article, we aimed to provide an update on the pathophysiology of MASLD, its interplay with cardiovascular disease, and current treatment strategies.

There are significant social and structural barriers to integrated delivery of PrEP and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), limiting women's ability to access these life-saving interventions. In a two parallel-arm randomized controlled trial, we are assessing an innovative eHealth delivery model that integrates PrEP with MOUD and is tailored to meet the specific needs of women involved in the criminal legal system.

Background: Migraine progression, particularly from episodic to chronic migraine (CM), increases disease burden and healthcare costs. Understanding the new concept of "Medication Underuse Headache" should encourage the health care provider to consider early intervention with calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) monoclonal antibodies. Galcanezumab given early in the course of the disease, may prevent migraine chronification and have a robust response, moreso than when initiated in later stages of migraine.

Gout is a systemic metabolic disorder caused by elevated uric acid (UA) levels, affecting over 1% of the population. The most common complication of gout is gouty arthritis (GA), characterized by swelling, pain or tenderness in peripheral joints or bursae, which can lead to the formation of tophi. At present, western medicines like colchicine, febuxostat and allopurinol are the primary treatment strategy to alleviate pain and prevent flare-ups in patients with GA, but they have significant side effects and increased mortality risks.
