The IRM is formally contraindicated to the pacemaker and cardiac defibrillator wearers because of the risk of inhibition or inappropriate stimulations during the examination. However if the examination is essential, suitable programming of the apparatus and a constant monitoring of the heartbeat rate by a qualified doctor in cardiac stimulation must make it possible to avoid any accident.

Pocket hematoma is a common and serious complication following cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) implantation, contributing to significant morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a novel pocket compression device in reducing pocket hematoma occurrence. We enrolled 242 patients undergoing CIED implantation, randomly assigning them to receive either the novel compression vest with a pressure cuff or conventional sandbag compression.

: This study aims to examine the success of concomitant surgical ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation after one, three, and five years. Additionally, important predictors for rhythm outcome and rates of permanent pacemaker implantations were analyzed. : In this retrospective study, we included patients who were referred to the University Hospital of Basel, Switzerland, between 2011 and 2017.

Purpose: Pacemaker-related infections are serious complications of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). This case report aims to describe the occurrence of pacemaker pocket infection and recurrent ventricular tachycardia (VT) in a Chinese amateur violinist with sick sinus syndrome (SSS), and to explore the possible connection between occupational habits and the infection, as well as VT.
Methods: A 76-year-old male violinist with a Biotronik Evia DR dual-chamber pacemaker presented with syncope and signs of a pacemaker pocket infection three years after implantation.

Aims: Evidence regarding the safety of early discharge following transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety of very early (<24) and early discharge (24-48 h) as compared to standard discharge (>48 h), supported by the implementation of a voice-based virtual assistant using artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing.
Methods And Results: Single-arm prospective observational study that included consecutive patients who underwent TAVI in a tertiary hospital in 2023 and were discharged under an AI follow-up programme.

Objectives: Evaluating the impact of an AI-based automated cardiac MRI (CMR) planning software on procedure errors and scan times compared to manual planning alone.
Material And Methods: Consecutive patients undergoing non-stress CMR were prospectively enrolled at a single center (August 2023-February 2024) and randomized into manual, or automated scan execution using prototype software. Patients with pacemakers, targeted indications, or inability to consent were excluded.
