The synthesis and activity of novel benzothiophene derivatives are described. In the t-Pa-induced fibrin clot lysis assay, several compounds inhibit the formation of the tPa-PAI-1 complex with submicromolar IC(50). This class of compounds potentially represents a new generation of antithrombotic-fibrinolytic agents.

For the typical ESIPT process, the proton transfer process is often completed via the intramolecular hydrogen bond (IHB) with oxygen or nitrogen as proton donor or proton acceptor. In recent years, the ESIPT process for sulfur-containing hydrogen bonds has received more and more attention, but it has been rarely reported. We systematically studied the ESIPT processes and photophysical properties of 2-(benzothiophene-2-yl)-3-hydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one (BTOH), 2-(benzothiophene-2-yl)-3-mercapto-4H-chromen-4-one (BTSH) and 2-(benzothiophen-2-yl)-3-hydroxy-4H-chromene-4-thione (BTS) at the HISSbPBE/6-31+G(d,p) and TD-HISSbPBE/6-31+G(d,p) computational level.

We report a visible-light-assisted tandem oxidative 5--dig cyclization of 1,6-enynes for the synthesis of aminated C-3 aryloylated benzofuran, furopyridine, benzothiophene, and indole derivatives. The nitrogen-centered radical generated in situ from -aminopyridinium salt initiates the consecutive formation of C-N, C-C, and C-O bonds. The methodology exhibits good functional group tolerance and regioselectivity, furnishing products in good to excellent yields at room temperature.

Objective: To investigate whether cardiac mast cells (MCs) participate in pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy through the regulation of transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 (TRPV4).

Methods: Pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy was induced via abdominal aortic constriction (AAC). Myocardial hypertrophy was evaluated by measuring the heart weight index (HW/BW), lung weight index (LW/BW), ratio of heart weight to tibia length (HW/TL), ratio of lung weight to tibia length (LW/TL), and cross-sectional area of myocardial cells.

Carbene-metal-amide (CMA) complexes are appealing emitters for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). However, little is known about silver(i)-CMA complexes, particularly electroluminescent ones. Here we report a series of Ag(i)-CMA complexes prepared using benzothiophene-fused carbazole derivatives as amide ligands.

We report a combined experimental (C-AFM and SThM) and theoretical (DFT) study of the thermoelectric properties of molecular junctions made of self-assembled monolayers on Au of thiolated benzothieno-benzothiophene (BTBT) and alkylated BTBT derivatives (C8-BTBT-C8). We measure the thermal conductance per molecule at 15 and 8.8 pW/K, respectively, among the lowest values for molecular junctions so far reported (10-50 pW/K).
