Objectives: This study sought to determine whether septoplasty played a favorable role on snoring complaints as well.
Patients And Methods: The study included 56 patients (40 males, 16 females; mean age 40 years; range 21 to 60 years) who underwent septoplasty operation for causes other than snoring. The patients' snoring complaints were evaluated and rated before and three months after surgery.
Results: Before surgery, 22 patients were found to have complaints of snoring. The snoring complaints improved after septoplasty in 16 patients (72.7%). The decrease in snoring complaints was found statistically significant (p<0.01).
Conclusion: Improvement in snoring complaints in patients undergoing septoplasty operation emphasizes the need for investigating and treating septum deviations which are a primary cause of upper respiratory tract obstruction.

Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) is a common complaint in the general population and is associated with cardiovascular disease and increased mortality. We aimed to investigate whether sleep duration is related to excessive daytime sleepiness in the general population, both in itself and in combination with other factors. We performed a cross-sectional analysis in the population-based Swedish CArdioPulmonary bioImage Study (SCAPIS) cohort (n = 27,976; 14,436 females; aged 50-64 years) to assess how sleep-related factors along with anthropometric, lifestyle, socioeconomic factors as well as somatic disease and psychological distress, were related with EDS assessed by the Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS).

One prior study revealed that a newly developed auto-titrating mandibular advancement device (AMAD) could potentially enhance polysomnographic outcomes in individuals with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, evidence regarding its impact on autonomic nervous system dysregulation in OSA remains limited. In this study, we aimed to compare the effects of conventional mandibular advancement devices (MADs) and AMDA on autonomic function.

Introduction And Importance: Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis in children severely impacts mouth opening, orofacial growth, airway space, and overall quality of life. While costochondral grafts (CCG) are the gold standard for end-stage TMJ reconstruction in children, their unpredictable growth poses challenges, including potential overgrowth, undergrowth, resorption, and reankylosis. However, recent reports have suggested the feasibility of alloplastic TMJ in pediatric patients.

Introduction: To identify predictors of excessive daytime sleepiness we analyzed data from the 'Epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases in regions of Russia (ESSE-RF)' study.
Methods: Data from participants of the cohort study ESSE-RF (2012-2013), aged 25-64 years, from 13 regions of Russia were analyzed (2012-2013). The participants were interviewed regarding their sleep complaints, including difficulties with initiating and maintaining sleep, sleepiness, and use of sleeping pills.
