The expansion of glutamine residue track (polyQ) within soluble proteins (Q proteins) is responsible for nine autosomal-dominant genetic neurodegenerative disorders. These disorders develop when polyQ expansion exceeds a specific pathogenic threshold (Q) which is unique for each disease. However, the pathogenic mechanisms associated with the variability of Q within the family of Q proteins are poorly understood.

Myostatin (Mstn) negatively regulates muscle growth and Mstn deficiency induced "double-skeletal muscle" development in vertebrates, including tilapias. In this study, we performed a transcriptomic analysis of skeletal muscle from both wild-type and mstnb males to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying skeletal muscle hypertrophy in mstnb mutants. We identified 4697 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), 113 differentially expressed long non-coding RNAs (DE lncRNAs), 211 differentially expressed circular RNAs (DE circRNAs), and 98 differentially expressed microRNAs (DE miRNAs).

Tef [ (Zucc.) Trotter] is the major staple crop for millions of people in Ethiopia and Eritrea and is believed to have been domesticated several thousand years ago. Tef has the smallest grains of all the cereals, which directly impacts its productivity and presents numerous challenges to its cultivation.

Fas has been shown to positively regulate the differentiation of T helper 17 (Th17) cells in mouse models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Fas protein expression is regulated by ubiquitination but has not been further studied. In this study, we investigated the role of the Fas ubiquitin ligase in Th17 cell differentiation and highlighted its potential as a therapeutic target for EAE.

Mammalian SUMO specific peptidase 2 (SENP2) plays vital roles in a variety of biological procedures including the immune response. However, the effects of teleost SENP2 are still mostly unexplored. In this study, the SENP2 of black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus) was cloned and characterized.
