This study was realized to evaluate the influence of monensin, virginiamycin, trace minerals and yeast combination on animal performance, feed efficiency, in situ digestibility, feeding behavior, and carcass and meat characteristics from bulls finished in feedlot fed high-grain diet. A total of 36 (European vs. Nellore) bulls at 24 ± 3.

As a pivotal branch of metabolomics, lipidomics studies global changes in lipid metabolism under different physiological and pathological conditions or drug interventions, discovers key lipid markers, and elaborates the associated lipid metabolism network. There are a considerable number of lipids in the host, which act on various functional networks such as metabolism and immune regulation. As an indispensable research method, lipidomics plays a key character in the analysis of lipid composition in organisms, the elaboration of the physiological mechanism of lipids, and the decoding of their character in the occurrence and development of diseases by exploring the character of lipids in the host environmental network.

Introduction: The higher prevalence of multiple chronic conditions and frailty among older adults may increase the physiologic demand required for wound healing after a major lower extremity amputation (LEA). After below knee amputations (BKA), patients generally have improved prosthetic fitting rates, postoperative ambulation, and quality of life compared to an above knee amputation (AKA). However, the benefit of a BKA must be weighed against the risk of wound complications.

Background: Endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation comprise common life support interventions for patients in intensive care units (ICUs). Premature or delayed extubation increases the risk of morbidity and mortality. Despite following weaning protocols, 10-20 % of patients fail extubation within 48 h.

In the pharmaceutical research of viral respiratory infections, cell culture models have traditionally been used to evaluate the therapeutic effects of candidate compounds. Although cell lines are easy to handle and cost-effective, they do not fully replicate the characteristics of human respiratory organs. Recently, organoids and microphysiological systems (MPS) have been employed to overcome this limitation for in vitro testing of drugs against viral respiratory infections.
