Introduction: Mu-opioid receptors (MORs) are G-coupled protein receptors with a high affinity for both endogenous and exogenous opioids. MORs are widely expressed in the central nervous system (CNS), peripheral organs, and the immune system. They mediate pain and reward and have been implicated in the pathophysiology of opioid, cocaine, and other substance use disorders.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a serious threat to global public health, with approximately 5 million deaths associated with bacterial AMR in 2019. Tackling AMR requires a multifaceted and cohesive approach that ranges from increased understanding of mechanisms and drivers at the individual and population levels, AMR surveillance, antimicrobial stewardship, improved infection prevention and control measures, and strengthened global policies and funding to development of novel antimicrobial therapeutic strategies. In this rapidly advancing field, this Review provides a concise update on AMR, encompassing epidemiology, evolution, underlying mechanisms (primarily those related to last-line or newer generation of antibiotics), infection prevention and control measures, access to antibiotics, antimicrobial stewardship, AMR surveillance, and emerging non-antibiotic therapeutic approaches.

The seawater electrolysis technology powered by renewable energy is recognized as the promising "green hydrogen" production method to solve serious energy and environmental problems. The lack of low-cost and ampere-level current OER (oxygen evolution reaction) and HER (hydrogen evolution reaction) catalysis limits their industrial application. In this work, a unique tri-metal (Co/Fe/Ni) layered double hydroxide hollow array anode catalyst (CFN-LDH/NF) and the CoP/FeNiP heterojunction hollow array cathode are successfully prepared via one in-situ growth of Co-MOF on nickel foam (Co-MOF/NF) precursor, which exhibits excellent catalytic performance.

Background/aim: Atherosclerosis is significantly influenced by endothelial cell activation and dysfunction. Studies have demonstrated the substantial presence of fibronectin (Fn) within atherosclerotic plaques, promoting endothelial inflammation and activation. However, cellular Fn (cFn) secreted by various cell types, including endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells, and plasma Fn (pFn) produced by hepatocytes.
