An aminoglycoside, tobramycin sulfate (TbS), was complexed with hexadecanoic acid (HdA), resulting in a TbS/HdA complex with a repeat unit of 5.3 nm of a lamellar nanostructure. The nanometer-sized TbS/HdA particles were produced using poloxamer 188 as a dispersing agent.

Sensitive and accurate determination of tumour biomarkers is extremely important for early cancer diagnosis. Herein, a photoelectrochemical biosensor platform was constructed for ultrasensitive tumour biomarker detection by utilizing Au@CuO to switch the photocurrent polarity of CdS/Ni-catecholates metal-organic framework (Ni-CAT) nanorod arrays grown in situ on ITO. The Ni-CAT obtains close contact with ITO and forms a Z-scheme heterojunction with CdS, which improves the photogenerated electron transfer ability.

The processes of electrochemical deposition of Ni on vertically aligned GaAs nanowires (NWs) grown by molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) using Au as a growth catalyst on Si(111) substrates were studied. Based on the results of electrochemical deposition, it was concluded that during the MBE synthesis of NWs the self-induced formation of conductive channels can occur inside NWs, thereby forming quasi core-shell nanowires. Depending on the length of the channel compare to the NW heights and the parameters of electrochemical deposition, the different hybrid metal-semiconductor nanostructures, such as Ni nanoparticles on GaAs NW side walls, Ni clusters on top ends of GaAs NWs, core-shell Ni/GaAs NWs, were obtained.

Chiral plasmonic nanomaterials have attracted significant awareness due to their applications in chiral catalysis, biosensing, photonics, and separation. Constructing plasmonic core-shell nanomaterials with geometric chirality and desirable optical chirality is a crucial yet challenging task for extending the range of chiral plasmonic nanomaterials. Here, a two-step method is reported for the synthesis of Gold (Au) branches wrapped silver (Ag) nanocubes (L/DBAg@Au) with strong and tunable circular dichroism (CD) signals under the regulation of L/D-cysteine (L/D-Cys).

Lysozyme-responsive nanoparticles were fabricated using a hydrophilic protein (gelatin type A) as the core and a hydrophobic polysaccharide (chitosan) as the shell. In this study, curcumin was used as a model molecule for encapsulation and promoted the aggregation of gelatin nanoparticles. Transglutaminase catalyzed both intra-molecular cross-linking within gelatin and inter-molecular cross-linking between gelatin and chitosan.
