Article Abstract

One thousand nine hundred and twenty animals (cattle, buffalo and sheep) and 60 humans suspected of ringworm were investigated in Egypt. Clinical and mycological aspects of the disease are described. Article Synopsis
  • Tineola bisselliella, known as the webbing clothes moth, is a significant pest that damages clothing and textiles, and there is a lack of genomic resources for this and related species.
  • The newly assembled genome consists of 30 pseudochromosomes and is highly contiguous, containing over 11,000 annotated genes, making it superior in quality compared to other Tineidae genomes.
  • This genome will help researchers understand the evolution of moth karyotypes and explore the mechanisms behind the moth's ability to digest keratin.

Background: Pediatric alopecia is increasingly common, influenced by conditions like alopecia areata and infections such as tinea capitis, primarily caused by Microsporum canis. Diagnosing tinea capitis in primary care is challenging due to limited access to advanced tools, leading to treatment delays.

Objectives: This study evaluates the effectiveness of Wood's lamp for early diagnosis of tinea capitis and its role in distinguishing it from other pediatric alopecia types.

Objective: The preparation of safranal-containing invasomes for fluconazole (FLU-IN) is investigated in the current research work to augment FLU permeation, bioavailability, and solubility nail for transungual delivery.

Methods: FLU-IN was prepared utilizing the 'thin-film hydration process', and for optimization, 'Box-Behnken design (BBD)' was employed. Entrapment efficiency (EE), Poly-dispersity index (PDI), FLU release, vesicle size and zeta potential were used to characterize FLU-INopt.
