Senescence represents a developmentally orchestrated and precisely regulated cascade of events, culminating in the abscission of plant organs and ultimately leading to the demise of the plant or its constituent parts. In this study, we observed that senescence in cut Lilium tigrinum flowers is induced by elevated ABA levels and the hyperactivation of lipoxygenase (LOX) activity. This cascade increased ROS concentrations, heightened oxidative damage, and disrupted cellular redox equilibrium.

The fine-tuning of the intricate network of plant growth hormones empowers the balanced responses of plants to environmental and developmental signals. Salicylic acid and jasmonates are emerging as advanced hormones that provide plants with resistance to environmental stresses. Senescence is characterized by coordinated and systematic crosstalk between phytohormones that remodels the biochemical and physiological mechanisms in plants, resulting in cell death.

We synthesized and characterized two copper(II) complexes: and , where = 2,2'-bipyridine and L' = 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine. We evaluated their photocatalytic hydrocarboxylation properties on a series of synthesized Schiff bases (): (E)-1-(4-((5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)phenyl)ethanone (), (E)-N-(4-(dimethylamino)benzylidene)benzo[d]thiazol-2-amine (), (E)-4-Bromo-2-((thiazol-2-ylimino)methyl)phenol (), and (E)-4-((5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3(2H)-one (). Under mild photocatalytic reaction conditions (room temperature, 1 atm CO, 30-watt Blue LED light), the derivatives of α-amino acids were obtained with yields ranging from 5% to 44%.

Purpose: Chemotherapy treatments for cancer are always accompanied by a low concentration of drug delivered in the tumor area and severe side effects including systemic toxicity. Improving the concentration, biocompatibility, and biodegradability of regional chemotherapy drugs is a pressing challenge in the field of materials.
Methods: -Phenyloxycarbonyl-amino acids (NPCs) which exhibit significant tolerance to nucleophiles, such as water and hydroxyl-containing compounds, are promising monomers for the synthesis of polypeptides and polypeptoids.

Herbicides, commonly used in agriculture to control weeds, often cause negative effects on crops. Safeners are applied to reduce the damage to crops without affecting the effectiveness of herbicides against weeds. Plant biostimulants have the potential to increase tolerance to a series of abiotic stresses, but very limited information exists about their effects on herbicide-stressed plants.
