We reexamine the problem of the "Loschmidt echo," that measures the sensitivity to perturbation of quantum-chaotic dynamics. The overlap squared M(t) of two wave packets evolving under slightly different Hamiltonian is shown to have the double-exponential initial decay proportional to exp(-constant x e(2lambda(0)t)) in the main part of the phase space. The coefficient lambda(0) is the self-averaging Lyapunov exponent. The average decay (-)M proportional to e(-lambda(1)t) is single exponential with a different coefficient lambda(1). The volume of phase space that contributes to (-)M vanishes in the classical limit variant Planck-->0 for times less than the Ehrenfest time tau(E)=1/2lambda0(-1)|ln Planck|. It is only after the Ehrenfest time that the average decay is representative for a typical initial condition.

Infodynamics is the study of how information behaves and changes within a system during its development. This study investigates the insights that informational analysis can provide regarding the ramifications predicted by constructal design. First, infodynamic neologisms informature, defined as a measure of the amount of information in indeterminate physical systems, and infotropy - contextualized informature representing the degree of transformation of indeterminate physical systems - are introduced.

The conformation of a series of zero-generation polyamidoamine dendrimers end-labeled with four 1-pyrene-butyroyl, -hexanoyl, -octanoyl, -decanoyl, and -dodecanoyl derivatives, referred to as the PyCX-PAMAM-G0 samples with = 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, respectively, was characterized in ,-dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and aqueous solutions of 50 mM sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) or 50 mM dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB). The conformation of the PyCX-PAMAM-G0 samples was determined from the global model-free analysis (MFA) of the fluorescence decays, which yielded the average rate constant (⟨⟩) for pyrene excimer formation (PEF) between an excited and a ground-state pyrenyl labels, with ⟨⟩ being proportional to the local concentration ([Py]) of the pyrenyl labels within the macromolecular volume; ⟨⟩-vs-[Py] plots yielded straight lines passing through the origin in DMF and DMSO, demonstrating that the internal segments of the dendrimers obeyed Gaussian statistics in these two solvents. In aqueous surfactant solutions, the hydrophobic pyrenyl labels induced the interactions of the PyCX-PAMAM-G0 dendrimers with the SDS and DTAB micelles.

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigs) fundamentally differ from tobacco cigarettes in their generation of liquid-based aerosols. Investigating how e-cig aerosols behave when inhaled into the dynamic environment of the lung is important for understanding vaping-related exposure and toxicity. A ventilated artificial lung model was developed to replicate the ventilatory and environmental features of the human lung and study their impact on the characteristics of inhaled e-cig aerosols from simulated vaping scenarios.

The reliable long-distance transmission of electromagnetic wave signals within goaf is fundamental for the implementation of wireless monitoring and early warning systems for goaf-related disasters. This paper establishes an experimental platform for electromagnetic wave signal transmission within goaf and develops a propagation model for electromagnetic waves in the porous media of goaf. The transmission characteristics of electromagnetic waves at various frequencies within the porous media environment of goaf are investigated through experimental and numerical simulation approaches.
