Synovitis (inflammatory arthritis), acne (pustulosa), palmoplantar pustulosis, hyperostosis and osteitis (bland osteomyelitis) are symptoms forming the acronym SAPHO. We present the case of a 48-year old man with sterno-costo-clavicular hyperostosis and typical pustulosis palmaris. We performed Tc-99m DPD serial bone scanning to monitor the course of disease and to assess therapeutic efficiency. Control bone scans in 2001 showed minor compromises of the ribs and diminished disease activity on collarbones and the sternum after medication with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and bisphosphonates. F-18 FDG PET presented synovial inflammation in the left sterno-clavicular joint but no relevant tracer uptake on clavicles or breastbones. In case of diagnostic doubts F-18 FDG PET could be recommended in order to discriminate bland osteomyelitis from bacterial osteomyelitis or from bone malignancy when SAPHO-syndrome is assumed.

Aim: To assess in a phantom and in a clinical study the influence of different reconstruction parameters on quantitative SPECT/CT values in the assessment of cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR-CA).
Method: A hybrid SPECT/CT camera with a proprietary software for SPECT/CT-based quantification of myocardial uptake of Tc-DPD was used. Images were reconstructed with 6 different protocols, differing in iterations, subset and Gaussian filter.

Quantitative Tc-3,3-diphosphono-1,2-propanodicarboxylic acid ([Tc]Tc-DPD) SPECT may be used for risk-stratifying patients with amyloid transthyretin-related cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). We aimed to analyze the predictive value of quantitative [Tc]Tc-DPD SPECT/CT in suspected and confirmed ATTR-CM according to different disease stages. The study enrolled consecutive patients with suspected ATTR-CM who were referred to a single tertiary center and underwent quantitative [Tc]Tc-DPD SPECT/CT allowing SUV and SUV analysis.

Background: Technetium-99 m 3,3-diphosphono-1,2-propanodicarboxylic acid (DPD) and technetium-99 m sodium pyrophosphate (PYP) are the two most commonly used radiotracers for cardiac amyloidosis (CA), but no studies have directly compared them. Therefore, in this study, we directly compared the diagnostic and clinical utility of DPD and PYP scintigraphy in patients with CA.

Purpose: To investigate the emerging role of Tc-99m-labeled diphosphonate (Tc-99m-DPD) uptake quantification by SPECT/CT in fibrous dysplasia (FD) bone lesions and its correlation with biological bone turnover markers (BTMs) of disease activity.
Materials And Methods: Seven patients (49 ± 16 years) with a confirmed diagnosis of FD were included in this retrospective study. Bone scans with Tc-99m-DPD and quantitative SPECT/CT (xSPECT/CT) were performed.
