1. Amoxicillin was used for treatment of 15 cases of infectious diseases in the surgical field and for prevention of 4 cases of postoperative infection, and good result was obtained in all 19 cases. Especially in the latter 4 cases, amoxicillin showed good preventive effect. 2. Any side effect probably due to amoxicillin was observed in no case. 3. Amoxicillin at a daily dose of 1,000 mg (potency) exhibited sufficient effect in treatment of infectious diseases in the surgical field and in prevention of postoperative infection.
