The complex dielectric permitivity of human skin was measured at a frequency of 42 GHz, and a method for calculating water content in skin tissues in vivo was proposed. The water content reaction of skin to standard physical exercises and nontoxic doses of nicotine was investigated. The functionally related changes in skin dielectric properties were interpreted as structural rearrangements of water contained in blood and tissues fluids.

Spatial transcriptomics (ST) offers enormous potential to decipher the biological and pathological heterogeneity in precious archival cancer tissues. Traditionally, these tissues have rarely been used and only examined at a low throughput, most commonly by histopathological staining. ST adds thousands of times as many molecular features to histopathological images, but critical technical issues and limitations require more assessment of how ST performs on fixed archival tissues.

Significance: Accurate values of skin optical properties are essential for developing reliable computational models and optimizing optical imaging systems. However, published values show a large variability due to a variety of factors, including differences in sample collection, preparation, experimental methodology, and analysis.
Aim: We aim to explore the influence of storage conditions on the optical properties of the excised skin from 400 to 1100 nm.

Lateral ankle soft tissue defects pose challenges, especially in cases due to chronic pressure from cross-legged sitting, which usually present with a large dead space, small skin opening that often accompanies an open joint. Traditional reconstruction methods using fasciocutaneous flaps may result in donor site morbidity such as delayed wound healing or nerve injury. In this article, we present a case of diabetes-related lateral ankle defect successfully treated using adiposal layer only flap, also known as pure fat flap.

Burn injuries often leave behind a "stasis zone", a region of tissue critically important for determining both the severity of the injury and the potential for recovery. To understand the intricate cellular and epigenetic changes occurring within this critical zone, we utilized single-cell assay for transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing (scATAC-seq) to profile over 31,500 cells from both healthy rat skin and the stasis zone at nine different time points after a burn injury. This comprehensive approach revealed 26 distinct cell types and the dynamic shifts in the proportions of these cell types over time.

Unlabelled: Retroperitoneal liposarcomas are rare mesenchymal tumors of that are typically detected in advanced stages and often carry a poor prognosis. The recurrence rate is high even after an adequate treatment. The multimodality therapy is not a standard for every case; therefore, an individual risk assessment is needed to select tailored treatment plans.
