CD47, a cell surface protein, serves as a "don't eat me" signal that prevents immune cells from engulfing healthy cells upon its interaction with SIRPα. Cancer cells exploit this mechanism by overexpressing CD47 to evade immune destruction. Blocking the interaction between CD47 and its receptor, SIRPα, is a promising therapeutic strategy.

Thiamin, an essential micronutrient, is a cofactor for enzymes involved in the central carbon metabolism and amino acids pathways. Despite efforts to enhance thiamin content in rice by incorporating thiamin biosynthetic genes, increasing thiamin content in endosperm remains challenging, possibly due to a lack of thiamin stability and/or a local sink. The introduction of storage proteins has been successful in biofortification strategies and similar efforts targeting thiamin led to a 3-4-fold increase in white rice.

Lithium has long been used as a cornerstone mood stabilizer in the treatment of bipolar disorder (BD). However, reliable biomarkers that can predict which patients will respond better to lithium are still lacking. This study aims to evaluate the potential of NR1D1 gene SNP; rs2071427 and actigraphic measurements in predicting lithium response.

A label-free photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor for detecting theophylline (TP) was exploited based on electrodes modified with a nanocomposite of polydopamine nanospheres (PDSs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). PDS particles were prepared by oxidative autopolymerization, and their reducibility was utilized in one step to reduce the gold nanoparticles . The AuNPs-PDS/ZnS PEC sensor was constructed by electrochemical deposition and drop coating.

(APP) is a significant pathogen in the swine industry, leading to substantial economic losses and highlighting the need for effective vaccines. This study evaluates the potential of APP-derived extracellular vesicles (APP-EVs) as a vaccine candidate compared to the commercial Coglapix vaccine. APP-EVs, isolated using tangential flow filtration (TFF) and cushioned ultracentrifugation, exhibited an average size of 105 nm and a zeta potential of -17.
