Bioapatite, the main constituent of mineralized tissue in mammalian bones, is a calcium-phosphate-based mineral that is similar in structure and composition to hydroxyapatite. In this work, the crystallographic structure of bioapatite in human fetuses was investigated by synchrotron radiation x-ray diffraction (XRD) and microdiffraction ( micro -XRD) techniques. Rietveld refinement analyses of XRD and micro -XRD data allow for quantitative probing of the structural modifications of bioapatite as functions of the mineralization process and gestational age.

Biased µ-opioid receptor (MOR) agonists enhance pain relief by selectively activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling and minimizing β-arrestin-2 activation, resulting in fewer side effects. This multicenter Phase II/III trial evaluated the optimal dosage, efficacy, and safety of SHR8554, a biased MOR agonist, for postoperative pain management following orthopedic surgery. In Phase II, 121 patients were divided into four groups to receive varying patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) doses of SHR8554 or morphine.

Objective: To apply a network medicine-based approach to analyze the phenome of the prenatal fetal MRI and biometric findings in the Chiari II malformation (CM II) to detect specific patterns and co-occurrences.
Method: A single-center retrospective review of fetal MRI scans obtained in fetuses with CM II was performed. Co-occurrence analysis was utilized to generate a phenotypic comorbidity matrix and visualized by Gephi software.

Skin aging, characterized by reduced elasticity, wrinkles, and changes in pigmentation, presents significant challenges in the cosmetics industry. Identifying compounds that can help mitigate these effects is crucial to developing effective anti-aging treatments and improving skin health. An advanced analytical approach for identifying skin anti-aging compounds within complex natural mixtures must be developed to achieve this.

With development of modern food industry, plant-based milk products are widely used to replace dairy products to cook different kinds of food. Due to different origins, it is necessary to assess the nutrition difference between dairy and plant-based milk products. Phospholipids and unsaturated fatty acids, as the important nutrients in cream and butter, were closely related to body development and health.

The chemical flexibility of the tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) structure offers a large potential for compositional engineering. Cation size and vacancy concentration are known to affect its structure, cation disorder, and functional properties. However, the compositional complexity also makes the TTB structure challenging to understand.
