Facial plastic surgery is an intervention that some have proposed to improve the physical functioning, appearance, and social acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome. Our purpose in this study was to examine the opinions of parents of children with Down syndrome about this practice. Two hundred and fifty parents responded with usable surveys and were generally familiar with the practice, yet the majority of respondents did not support the surgery. The literature on this topic is reviewed, and related issues are discussed.

Background: Complex craniofacial trauma is defined as those traumatic injuries that are not responding to initial treatment and may involve chronic infection, tissue exposure, and soft tissue contusions. Typical reconstruction using a Y-shaped microvascular venous anastomotic free flap is labor intensive. Therefore, this study explored the Re-face selective depolymerization mechanisms of a novel PET-degradation peptidase, hydrolase 202. Theoretical calculations revealed that the first step, a catalytic triad-assisted nucleophilic attack, is the rate-determining step.

Pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis (PFT), also known as septic or suppurative flexor tenosynovitis, is a closed-space infection of the hand's flexor tendon sheath that necessitates timely diagnosis and treatment. The treatment consists of antibiotic therapy often combined with prompt surgical treatment. The most common surgical approach is the closed irrigation technique, which involves inserting a 16-gauge angiocatheter in the proximal aspect of the flexor tendon sheath, leaving the distal end of the Brunner incision open during the irrigation process.

An optimal planning, achievable thanks to advanced acquisition of 3D images and thanks to the virtual simulation of the intervention via specific software. Anyway, the final result depends also on factors that cannot be totally predicted regarding the settlement of soft tissues on the rigid structures, and a final objective check would be useful to eventually perform some adjustments before to conclude the intervention.

Background: Compared with direct linear resection, the triangular flap insertion method is a correction method that purportedly reduces the incision tension of dog ears deformity. Randomized clinical trials comparing these 2 methods seem to be limited or absent.
Objective: A randomized study was planned to compare the cosmetic effect and scar in the defect area between the triangular flap insertion method and direct linear resection in the repair of dog ear deformities after the suture of the facial circular defect.
