: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) plays a key role in mediating anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects in the tumor microenvironment. Kaurenoic acid (KA), a diterpene compound isolated from (L.) Pruski, has been demonstrated to exert anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antihuman immunodeficiency virus effects.

Tissue acidification resulting from dysregulated cellular bioenergetics accompanies various inflammatory states. GPR68, along with other members of proton-sensing G protein-coupled receptors, responds to extracellular acidification and has been implicated in chronic inflammation-related diseases such as ischemia, cancer, and colitis. The present study examined the role of extracellular acidification on human pulmonary endothelial cell (EC) permeability and inflammatory status per se and investigated potential synergistic effects of acidosis on endothelial dysfunction caused by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS, ).

: This research aims to investigate the mechanisms of resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly focusing on the role of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) within the tumor microenvironment (TME). : We employed an in vitro three-dimensional organoid model that mirrors the physiology of human lung cancer. These organoids consist of lung cancer cells harboring specific mutations, human mesenchymal stem cells, and human umbilical vein endothelial cells.

Background: Adhesion molecules including E-cadherin and N-cadherin have been proven to contribute to the carcinogenesis process. It has been demonstrated that an increased expression or appearance of N-cadherin, as well as a reduction in the expression of E-cadherin, are documented in many cancers, often leading to the loss of intercellular adhesion and acquisition of a more invasive or even metastatic mesenchymal phenotype. The aim of this study was to assess the expression of E-cadherin and N-cadherin, as well as markers of proliferation Ki67 in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Background: Chemokines, along with their receptors, exert critical roles in tumor development and progression. In prostate cancer (PCa), interleukin-8 (IL-8/CXCL8) was shown to enhance angiogenesis, proliferation, and metastasis. CXCL8 activates two receptors, CXCR1 and CXCR2.
