The objective of this study was to analyze the development of Jean Watson's ten carative factors in the process of caring with clients and their families in an emergency unit of a general hospital in Florianópolis. It was based on the convergent-assistance research design, and developed with 91 clients, from September 3 to November 30, 2001. The development of Watson's ten carative factors in the process of caring was effective in the emergency unity contributing to an approach more humanized and with greater quality when compared to another which emphasizes only the biological dimension.

Introduction: Intimate partner violence (IPV) and depression are global health concerns with high prevalence rates and substantial negative impacts on individuals and the wider community. Women are particularly vulnerable to both IPV victimization and depressive disorders, and both are recognized worldwide as priorities for women's health. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to determine whether recent longitudinal empirical evidence supports exposure to IPV as a contributing factor to the subsequent onset of depression in women.

Purpose: Osteoradionecrosis of the jaw (ORNJ) is a severe iatrogenic disease characterized by bone death after radiation therapy (RT) to the head and neck. With over 9 published definitions and at least 16 classification systems, the true incidence and severity of ORNJ are obscured by lack of a standard for disease definition and severity assessment, leading to inaccurate estimation of incidence, reporting ambiguity, and likely under-diagnosis worldwide. This study aimed to achieve consensus on an explicit definition and phenotype of ORNJ and related precursor states through data standardization to facilitate effective diagnosis, monitoring, and multidisciplinary management of ORNJ.

Background: Emerging work highlights the potential of community health workers (CHWs) to promote physical activity (PA) as a part of their role in preventing and managing non-communicable diseases. However, little is known about CHW preferences and desires towards receiving PA training.
Methods: Community health promoters (CHPs), a type of CHWs in South Africa, from seven health districts in Johannesburg participated in a day-long in-service training on PA and healthy eating.

The Macquarie Ridge is a major seafloor feature in the Southern Hemisphere between New Zealand and the Antarctic continent, and its marine communities have been poorly explored. During the MacRidge 2 TAN0803 survey conducted on board the R/V , several seamounts of the Macquarie Ridge were sampled. Among the benthic samples obtained, a collection of hydroids was present.
