Introduction: This study aims to evaluate the impact of preoperative ureteral stenting on post-operative outcomes, especially the incidence of urinoma, in patients with complex renal tumours undergoing nephron-sparing surgery (NSS).
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 35 patients received preoperative ureteral stenting prior to NSS for complex tumours at the University Hospital of Würzburg between 2002 and 2021. A control group of 115 patients was established through 1:3 propensity score matching based on age, gender, T-stage, and RENAL score.

With the continuous development of robot-assisted technology, Robot-assisted Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy (RALPN) has gradually become an optional method for the treatment of Hemorrhage secondary to angiomyolipoma (HSA). However, there are rare clinical reports of the primary RALPN for HSA. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of primary RALPN for HSA.

However, traditional approaches may be unsuitable for conditions such as post-renal abscesses, long-standing urinomas, non-functioning kidneys post-pyeloplasty, pyelolithotomies, post-partial nephrectomy recurrences, tuberculous kidneys, pyelonephritis, and redo-renal surgeries. This study describes a modified retrograde nephrectomy technique and its outcomes in 40 cases.

Objectives: To compare the postoperative outcomes of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy when only the inner layer is sutured (single-layer technique with soft coagulation) with those when sutures are placed in the inner and outer layers (double-layer technique) in patients with and without complex renal tumors.
Methods: This retrospective three-institution study included 371 patients with renal tumors who underwent robot-assisted partial nephrectomy with a double-layer technique or a single-layer technique with soft coagulation. Tumors that were cT1b, completely embedded, located in the renal portal, or had a RENAL score of ≥10 were considered complex.

Objectives: To evaluate thermal denaturation depth using soft coagulation in kidneys in vivo.
Methods: In experiment 1, nine kidneys from five pigs were cauterized using five soft-coagulation settings at 80 W with effect 7 by VIO300D and one monopolar-coagulation setting. The surface of the kidney was cauterized over a period of 2, 5 and 10 s.
