In order to increase yield, the cultivation of Pinellia ternata in artificial soil was studied, and its growth habits was investigated. At same time, the measures of dominating soil thickness, using nutrient solution as fertillizer and complete illumination were taken. The research results can supply a reference for the industrial production of P. ternata.

Article Synopsis
  • Passion fruit, an economically significant crop in Guangxi, China, experienced a blossom blight epidemic in September 2022, affecting about 30% of plants in a 2.5 ha area.
  • The disease resulted in initial water-soaked spots on flowers that progressed to wet rot, characterized by white mycelia and dark sporangia.
  • Three fungal isolates linked to the illness were identified as Choanephora cucurbitarum based on their morphological features and genetic sequencing, confirming the fungus's identity through a high degree of similarity in ribosomal DNA sequences.

Introduction: is a perennial herb of the family Araceae that grows in China and has various medicinal properties and applications. At present, the artificial cultivation of is constrained by seedling propagation. To address the problems of low seedling breeding propagation efficiency and high cost, our group has developed a highly efficient cultivation technology for "hydroponic cuttings of "for the first time.

Broad spectrum protection against different insects and pathogens requires multigene engineering. However, such broad spectrum protection against biotic stress is provided by a single protein in some medicinal plants. Therefore, tobacco chloroplasts were transformed with the agglutinin gene from Pinellia ternata (pta), a widely cultivated Chinese medicinal herb.
