Background And Objective: Proactive palliative interventions can improve symptom control and quality of life in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); however, they are often underutilised. This study aimed to develop and validate a prediction model to identify women with COPD in their last year of life to facilitate timely palliative care referrals and interventions.
Methods: Data from 1236 women diagnosed with COPD from the 1921-1926 Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health cohort, linked to administrative health records, were analysed.

Background: Health systems across Europe are facing a workforce crisis, with some experiencing severe shortages of doctors. In response, many are exploring greater task-sharing, across established professions, such as doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, with patients and carers, and with new occupational groups, in particular ones that can assist doctors and relieve their workload.
Case Presentation: In the early 2000s the United Kingdom created a new occupational role, that of physician assistant.

Background: Prolonged packing of anorectal abscess cavities with internal dressings after incision and drainage is frequently used, but the efficacy of this practice remains controversial. Some studies highlight its use in hemostasis and preventing fistula and abscess recurrence, whereas others describe its economic burden and increase in pain. In this systematic review, we examine current evidence on the impact of packing after incision and drainage for anorectal abscesses.

However, advances in our knowledge of breast implant-associated malignancies have raised questions about the prevalence, etiology, and management of malignancies associated with non-breast IMDs. The objective of this study was to examine the prevalence and characteristics of malignancies associated with non-breast IMDs.
