[Space perception: the history and its significance for art].

Some aspects of the opthalmologic history of Denmark are briefly mentioned. Lens extraction in 1667 in Copenhagen, Edmund Hansen Gruts stereoophtalmoscopy in 1857, Ludvig Panums area in 1858 (single vision) space perception and outside this area double vision), squint treatment, Marius Tschernings periscopic spectacle lenses, Henning Rønnes stereoortograph and keiroscope and Gerhard Rønnes stereoscope. Space perception depends mostly on binocular function (convergens), but in fact some space perception occurs in vision due to perspective, accommodation, parallaxe, blurring, colours and shadows. The Danisk Poet, Hans Christian Andersen, has in his novels mentioned latent squint. The German poet Rainer Maria Rilke was much interested in perspective in connection with the development of impressionism, especially Paul Cézanne. Rilke in his later period developed the view that concentration on perspective removed those essential aspects from the world, in which he found God or a fourth dimension, as exemplified in the presence of ghosts.

Lactating women and the perception of useful value for breastfeeding in a prison environment.

The aim is to unveil the useful value of breastfeeding for lactating women in a prison environment, based on Max Scheler's axiological perspective. This work was a qualitative, developed in a prison unit in Rio de Janeiro, where seven lactating women were interviewed. The phenomenological interview was used for data collection, while Laurence Bardin's content analysis was used for data analysis and treatment.

Pattern separation and pattern completion in the hippocampus play a critical role in episodic learning and memory. However, there is limited empirical evidence supporting the role of the hippocampal circuit in these processes during complex continuous experiences. In this study, we analyzed high-resolution fMRI data from the "Forrest Gump" open-access dataset (16 participants) using a sliding-window temporal autocorrelation approach to investigate whether the canonical hippocampal circuit (DG-CA3-CA1-SUB) shows evidence consistent with the occurrence of pattern separation or pattern completion during a naturalistic audio movie task.

Volitional spatial attention is lateralized in crows.

Like humans and many other animal species, birds exhibit left-right asymmetries in certain behaviours due to differences in hemispheric brain functions. While the lateralization of sensory and motor functions is well established in birds, the potential lateralization of high-level executive control functions, such as volitional attention, remains unknown. Here, we demonstrate that carrion crows exhibit more pronounced volitional (endogenous) attention for stimuli monocularly viewed with the left eye and thus in the left visual hemifield.

Three-dimensional (3D) light-field displays can provide natural stereoscopic visual perception and an intuitive viewing experience. However, the high production threshold and the lack of user-friendly editing tools for light-field images make it difficult to efficiently and conveniently generate 3D light-field content that meets various needs. Here, a text-driven light-field content editing method for 3D light-field display based on Gaussian splatting is presented.
