A region-of-interest (ROI) fluoroscopy device that provides an automatically generated ROI filter with an arbitrary shape, as well as digitally compensated images, was built and evaluated. ROI filters were generated by using a deformable attenuation material. Images were compensated by using a compensation ratio and a running average interpolation method. Image compensation parameters were predicted on the basis of the x-ray tube potential used. The image quality with and without an ROI filter was evaluated. This ROI fluoroscopic technique was shown to substantially reduce patient and operator radiation exposure without degrading image quality within the ROI.

An 83-year-old man underwent dual-chamber pacemaker placement for complete atrioventricular block at another hospital. The active-fixation ventricular lead was positioned on the free wall of the anterior right ventricle. Ventricular pacing failure occurred on the day after pacemaker implantation, and fluoroscopy revealed right ventricular (RV) lead perforation.

We describe the initial uptake and experience of PFA using a pentaspline catheter across selected National Health Service England (NHSE) centres.
Methods: Data collected by NHSE Specialised Services Development Programme regarding AF ablation procedures using a single-shot, pentaspline, multielectrode PFA catheter (FARAWAVE, Boston Scientific) between June 2022 and August 2024 were aggregated and analysed to examine procedural metrics, acute efficacy and safety outcomes over 3-month follow-up.
