Objectives: Due to the increasingly faster pace of life and responsibilities, stress has become an integral part of daily life. Every year, numerous social campaigns in the media raise the issue of increasing alcohol consumption. Endometriosis is a chronic, causally incurable, estrogen-dependent and inflammatory gynecological disorder, described as presence of ectopic endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity.

This article presents a narrative review that explores the potential link between kisspeptin-a key regulator of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis-and the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Kisspeptin plays a significant role in regulating reproductive functions by modulating the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which in turn stimulates the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Recent studies suggest that kisspeptin may also impact peripheral reproductive tissues and influence inflammatory processes involved in the development of endometriosis.

Background/objectives: The gonadotropins luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and their receptors are major regulators of reproduction in mammals and are absent in insects. We previously established transgenic lines expressing a constitutively active human LH receptor variant (LHR) and the wild-type receptor (LHR; inactive in the absence of an agonist). That study showed that ubiquitously expression of LHR-but not of LHR-resulted in pupal lethality, and targeted expression in midline cells resulted in thorax/bristles defects.

Objective: This study aimed to determine whether the use of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) as a trigger could offer a potential solution for addressing empty follicle syndrome following the administration of a trigger for gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis was conducted using data extracted from the hospital database pertaining to 415 patients who underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) with an antagonist protocol triggered by a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist between December 2019 and January 2023 at the Acıbadem Maslak Hospital Assisted Reproductive Technologies Unit. All cases that failed to obtain oocytes and required rescue were analyzed.
