Summary: RnaViz has been developed to easily create nice, publication quality drawings of RNA secondary structure. RnaViz 2 supports CT, DCSE, and RNAML input formats and improves on many aspects of the first version, notably portability and structure annotation. RnaViz is written using a hybrid programming approach combining pieces written in C and in the scripting language Tcl/Tk, making the program very portable and extensible.

Since the discovery of the Musashi (MSI) protein, its ability to affect the mitosis of Drosophila progenitor cells has garnered significant interest among scientists. In the following 20 years, it has lived up to expectations. A substantial body of evidence has demonstrated that it is closely related to the development, metastasis, migration, and drug resistance of malignant tumors.

The nucleocapsid (N) protein is the most expressed protein in later stages of SARS-CoV-2 infection with several important functions. It is translated from a subgenomic mRNA (sgmRNA) formed by template switching during transcription. A recently described translation initiation site (TIS) with a CTG codon in the leader sequence (TIS-L) is out of frame with most structural and accessory genes including the N gene and may act as a translation suppressor.

Respiratory avian viral diseases significantly impact the world poultry sector, leading to notable economic losses. The highly contagious DNA virus, infectious laryngotracheitis virus, and the RNA virus, avian metapneumovirus, are well known for their prevalent effects on avian respiratory systems. The infectious laryngotracheitis virus (ILTV), stemming from the family, manifests as an upper respiratory disease within birds.

Tanshinones, biologically active diterpene compounds derived from , interact with specific proteins and DNA sequences, influencing signaling pathways in animals and humans. This study highlights tanshinone-protein interactions observed at concentrations achievable in vivo, ensuring greater physiological relevance compared to in vitro studies that often employ supraphysiological ligand levels. Experimental data suggest that while tanshinones interact with multiple proteomic targets, only a few enzymes are significantly affected at biologically relevant concentrations.
