Objective: To isolate and elucidate the chemical constituents in the roots of Rabdosia japonica.

Method: The constituents were extracted by ether and isolated by chromatography on silica gel and ODS. The structures were determined by IR, H NMR, 13C NMR and MS spectra respectively.

Result: Four compounds were elucidated as glaucocalgxin A, oleanolic acid, ursolic acid and daucosterol.

Conclusion: Oleanolic acid and daucosterol were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Macroalgae growing in the polar regions are exposed to extreme environment conditions and may induce differences in the structural and bioactive properties of their polysaccharides. Six brown macroalgae viz. kelp species - Saccharina latissima, Laminaria digitata, and Alaria esculenta; rockweed Fucus distichus; and filamentous macroalgae - Chorda filum and Chordaria flageliformis, from the Arctic were investigated for polysaccharides and their bioactivity.

Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Products, College of Pharmacy, and International Cooperative Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization and Innovative Drug Development of Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), Jinan University, Guangzhou 510632, China. Electronic address:

Background: The concept of a Quality marker (Q-marker) has emerged as a crucial tool for ensuring the safety and efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulas. However, significant challenges remained in the identification and practical application of Q-marker, particularly due to the scarcity of reference standards.

Purpose: This study aimed to achieve a multidimensional integration of chemical profiling, target tissue distribution and in vivo high-throughput screening model to effectively identify the Q-marker of Shensong Yangxin Capsule (SSYX) and propose a linear substitution strategy for the quantification of multiple components.

Evidence on the association of long-term exposure to fine particular matter (PM) and its chemical constituents with the prognosis of oral cancer patients is limited. We identified 1673 oral cancer patients from 2011 to 2021 in Fujian, China. We evaluated annual average concentrations of PM and constituents, including nitrate, sulfate, ammonium, black carbon (BC), and organic matter (OM), using bilinear interpolation based on the patients' residential address.
